I don't know any parents that look into the eyes of a newborn baby and say, "How can we screw this kid up?" --Russell Bishop
Parent, give yourself a break. Remember these three truths about parenting:
1. Perfection isn't the goal. God never intended for us to be perfect parents. His plans never include perfection when it comes to humanity. We are in desperate need of Him. Every. Single. Day. Quit trying to be perfect. It's not possible.
2. Intentionality trumps perfection. Remain committed to raising godly kids who have a heart for growing deeper in their faith. Develop practical ways to ensure this can happen in your home. What works for one family may not work for yours. Do something. Be intentional. We don't have to be perfect. We just have to be intentional.
3. Admit your shortcomings. Be real. Get real with your kids. Let them know that you don't know how to be a parent. Talk to your friends about the struggles you're experiencing in your home. Contrary to what you see on social media, your friends do not all have perfect kids and perfect homes. Admit that, on your own strength, you will fall short every single time.
