Here were the Peeps games we played:
Peep Tower: Using a plate we placed 8-12 Peeps on a plate. One player from each team was selected to play this game. The player must put his hands behind his back and, using his teeth, stack as many Peeps into a tower as possible in one minute. The team with the tallest Peep tower is declared the winner.
Blind Peep Toss: One player is given a silly set of bunny ears and an Easter bucket/basket, etc. (absolutely no reason for the ears except it's way more fun way watch!). Another player is given a bag full of Peeps and is told to face his team. The player must toss the Peeps behind him without looking. The player holding the bucket (and wearing the fun ears) must catch as many as possible. The team with the most Peeps in their bucket after one minute is declared the winner.
Peep Devour: Placing 4 Peeps on a plate, kids must place their hands behind their back (we selected one at a time from each team to play) and eat as many of the Peeps as they can in one minute...way more difficult than it sounds.
Peep Suck-Up: Giving each kid a straw and a Peep, kids race sucking their Peep onto their straw to a designated finish line. First team with all across the finish line is declared the winner.
How Many Peeps? The good 'ol guess how many Peeps are in this container game. Kids were given the opportunity to guess as they signed in. They were given an Avery 5160 label with the number they guessed on it and placed that on their shirt. At the end of the evening, the person with the closest guess received an Easter basket prize.
So I was a bit of a slacker this month and did ZERO decorating. Don't judge. It's Easter week and I'm in full time ministry. :)
Our snack ladies were, as usual, awesome and the kids loved their themed treats too.
Teaching Objective: Tell other Peeps about Jesus! Each small group received a box of Peeps and ten minutes. They were to prepare a skit, song, cheer, or rap USING THEIR PEEPS about how you could tell someone else about Jesus. (get it? tell other Peeps!) I was surprised at the level of involvement from some of the kids on this one. It was fun to watch them all present. (I even made a cheesy t-shirt that said "Tell other Peeps about Jesus." It was a hit!)
Well, that's this month's Themed Thursday. Next month's Foot Frenzy is going to be a great time too! Stay tuned!

I'm also attaching the image I used on the shirt I made. It's the jpg just below this text.
