The message was on Acts 8:26-40.
Philip shared his faith with the Ethopian. In football, play doesn't actually begin until someone hikes the ball. Our faith is the same. It doesn't do anyone any good unless we are willing to get out there and share it. Here were the message points:
1. Philip was LIKE-MINDED with the coach (He and God wanted the same thing--to share Jesus with the Ethopian. In a ballgame, the QB and the coach are both working towards a win.)
2. Philip LISTENED. Scripture tells us that he went and immediately did what the Spirit instructed him to do. In a ball game, it's vital that the players listen to the calls of the QB so they can do what he says. The QB spends much time listening to the coach.
3. LEFT IT ALL ON THE FIELD. Philip didn't just ask the man if he understood what he was reading..he stuck around to explain it and then present the gospel. We must give it our all when we are sharing our faith.
