When you sit at home: what could you do to engage your family in a meaningful faith conversation? The big "D" word is pretty intimidating (devotions). There are TONS of awesome resources out there that can help your family in this area. Pre-Schoolers to teens. Ask me if you'd like me to point out some great resources for you.
When you walk along the road: how many hours do you spend in the car per week?! Maximize this opportunity. Maybe call the car a "no media" zone (ipods, etc.) except for things you all listen to together. If everyone is "plugged" into other things, meaningful discussion cannot take place. Keep a stack of index cards in your car that propmpt discussion (ex. Give me a word that describes God).
When you lie down: kids tend to be particularly open to discussing things at bedtime (anything to prolong the inevitable, huh?!). Ask someone to share how they saw God working that day. Spend time praying together.
When you get up: as kids are running out the door grabbing backpacks, could you send them off with a quick blessing? Scripture is full of them......"The Lord bless and keep you", etc.
Pretty big responsiblity but definitely doable when we break it down to the basics: when you sit at home, when you walk along the raod, when you lie down, when you get up! Make it part of your everyday lives. IMAGINE the impact!
