Here are some practical ways to get the word out about how awesome your KidMin is without spending a dime:
1. Social Media: using a picture of one of your team members engaged either in a serious or playful moment with one of your kids, post on your church's social media. Post a word about what makes that person so good at what he/she does. A quick picture on Instagram using appropriate #s will generate a lot of engagements. When other people see that you value the members of your team, they will appreciate the type of leader that you are and will realize that members of your team add value, they don't just fill positions.
2. Ministry Swag: when people are all dressed in ministry swag of some sort, it says to others, "I'm proud to be a part of this team." I get so excited when I see one of my team members wearing some of our ministry swag at a non-church event. The fact that they are proud to represent, speaks volumes to anyone who sees them out and about.
3. Make personal introductions: when you see a parent picking up a child for the first time, introduce them to their child's small group leader, your computer check in people, or any other team member. When people see that you're proud of your team and that you know them personally it says a lot about you as their leader.
4. Hang fun pictures: people want to know that you all really do enjoy community together. When they see that you have fun together it draws them in. All of us wants to belong. To be a part of a community that knows we matter, make a difference, and has fun. Have really great team shots blown into poster sizes that you can change out from time to time.
